This week's blog features my soul sister and dear friend Jeni

(aka 'Soul Shine')

What can I say?, her soul truly does shine!

I met Jeni on the social network 'Facebook' a few years ago and I have been blessed by her life in uncountable ways ever since! The first thing about Jeni that drew our hearts together was her nightly benediction to her friends! I just knew I had to know her better! She kindly accepted my friend request and I’ve never regretted knowing her one single day since then! Nearly every night Jeni sends out a blessing to all her friends and there’s been many a night that her words have given me the ability to sleep in peace knowing I was loved and cared about by her! The next bond we formed was of course music! Jeni loves the Blues and has been my main reason for exploring this genre of music. Jeni is a very patient and faithful tutor when it comes to her blues and I’ve been a willing pupil.

…….what can I tell you? Jeni you’ve blessed me with your faithful sharing of songs like this one! Girl you DO let your soul shine and it’s shone on me in my darkest hours! Especially in the past 7 months, there were days when I wanted to die and yet you Jeni showed me how to make my soul shine in spite of the hurt and I will always be grateful for you. I’ll never forget some of our almost all night laugh fests too on private messaging! One or the other of us would need to just get silly and once we started we couldn’t stop! So thank you Jeni for the greatest gift of your laughter and how you always shared that with me!

…..and NO way will anyone drag from me the stuff that makes us both laugh for hours on end! Suffice it to say Jeni and I are truly soul sisters because of laughter as well as the Blues!

One of my favourite artists Jeni got me hooked on is Keb’ Mo’ and the song ‘She Just Wants To Dance’ epitomizes Jeni as is evidenced by her nightly blessing when Jeni tells her friends to “dance sweet and free” and so in my own way I have done that!

Jeni has amazing stories about Blues artists around the world and I am looking forward to hearing all of them! Journey Of The Story Tellers is a place where Jeni can be found doing what the good Lord created and called her to do, thank you Jeni you know I love ya~
