Unquiet Nights - Irish rock band, and so much more
“So catchy. Pure Rock & Roll.” – Phil Taggart, BBC Radio 1.
‘Unquiet Nights are the band of Northern Irish songwriter Luke Mathers. Formed in Belfast city and relocating to mainland Europe, they’ve picked up much radio worldwide, supported million selling artists, recorded with hall of famers, released one record and toured in nine countries.
Mathers’ fascination with songs and guitars started in the early 90’s in a particularly turbulent part of pre-ceasefire Northern Ireland, collecting Roy Orbison cassettes and forming fledgling bands. After the last of such bands split in 2005 following reasonable success, Mathers set about focusing solely on his own songwriting. Settling on the name Unquiet Nights some time in 2006, partially in reference to an obscure Genesis track, and partially in reference to bi-polar disorder, he began recording and playing solo gigs’.
This is the bare bones biography taken straight from the bands website and there’s a lot more, I highly recommend you follow the link http://www.unquietnights.com/ to learn more about a band whose music jumped off the YouTube list for me this week with the song from their debut album '21st Century Redemption Songs' my top favourite song being ‘Don’t Want To Kill For Religion’

this being my natural choice for the path I now walk~! I’d also like to point out that after a brief word with the lead band member Luke Mathers himself he divulged is also a fan and follower of the legendary Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers~
Some of you probably know how much that band means to us right here at Hard Drive Promotions.
Please check out “Unquiet Nights” (there's a soundcloud link on our 'Juke Joint' page) and consider the music they bring to us!
