Steve Gifford

“Beaudesert” a beautiful wilderness is the latest arrival on the Folk/Blues/ music scene from our very own Steve Gifford!

Owner of Hard Drive Promotions, Dave Holmes, was pumped up for weeks prior to Steve Gifford and the very talented Hilary Fielding’s arrival on the tour scene in HDP’s hometown of Creiff, Scotland. I got caught up in the excitement of the show and got to do a cyber overview of the behind the scenes actions and man was I ever amazed and intrigued by what I witnessed! Energy, enthusiasm and devotion brought the incredible sounds of Steve and Hilary’s music to the “TheVenue@No24 in Crieff!”

Since that time I’ve had the opportunity to listen in on some of Steve’s tracks via Soundcloud and am transported to my happy place once again. I live in music round the clock most of the time (simply won’t do otherwise) and will enjoy spending some of those hours listening over and again to “Beaudesert”. Yes, I realise that most music that comes to me is “feelings based” and the one song thus far that has captivated my emotions has been “Nothing Ever Stays The Same” a song that undoubtedly speaks to the soul of anyone who has loved and lost or just worries about losing. I feel it’s more a Blues style that typically sings the truth in such a way as to acquiesce to the truth of life’s agonies without going completely over to the dark side! Another favourite track for me simply must be “Places In The Sun!” It is a true song of the heart, the song of farewell, a song I have personally “sung” recently going through my own separation. Yet the end of the song is the needed truth that this is now MY time to ride my own stallion off into the sun! Thank you for the hope in that song Steve Gifford, it has been gratefully accepted.

Last on this list (for now) “World In His Hands” sure ‘feels like/sounds like’ Blues to me! A gentle style no doubt, but the “call of the wild” nature of this song that tells me to just think of the good times, maybe even living on a beach, I have a hunch that our HDP owner will agree that this song is high on his repeat song playlist!

Thank you ever so much Steve Gifford for breaking out of the norm for you on this CD when it comes to your reasons for writing and singing during your musical career. If you hadn’t taken a risk I’d not have had the opportunity to listen to and enjoy your “musics”! I am looking forward to hearing the rest of your songs now as well!

Many thanks to Hard Drive Promotions for sharing this artist with me! Steve Gifford and Hilary Fielding a heartfelt indebtedness to you both for this CD! Appreciativeness also going out to “TheVenue@No24 in Crieff!” for stepping up to the plate for all of us~

See you all in the musics”
