Here I am on yet another very early morning sojourn of music extraordinaire with a refusal to admit to the amount of times this song has been replayed on my loop. Suffice it to say I can now hear it even when the computer is not plugged in! It is of no consequence that sleep evades me, especially when insomnia actually affords me the chance to speak to so many incredible independent and unsigned artists around the world and for them to share their songs and stories with me. I asked Lee Maddison about some of his songs and what motivated him to compose and produce them. I’m certain now that I was then given the chance to do a write up of his album which I did do most gratefully. This entire collection speaks of a hearts desire that is fundamental in most of us after we conquer our world, in a manner of speaking, as young adults! Lee Maddison, whom I’ve fondly dubbed “Minstrel” has done just that in his life and is now ready to concentrate solely on his musical work. He’d like to bring it to the rest of the world now and we hope to help him do just that~ If you’d like to read more of his personal experience you can go to his blog here
* please do read up and be inspired by his drive and determination to sing and share his passion with the world as I have most certainly done and keep going back to read more and be encouraged! I am so sure that folks will enjoy his music that when he asked me to include his link that affords us to hear a few more tracks of his for free I jumped at the chance so here you all are, a “gift” from the Minstrel. http://www.leemaddisonmusic.com/free-track

There is so much more to Lee than my favourite song here and I’d like to encourage you if you have a Facebook account to go to his page and add him as a friend. He might even have a word with you and at the very least you’ll be able to keep track of his wanderings and upcoming events or visit his website I’ve posted above! You will not regret doing this and the Minstrel’s music will only add life to your world as it has done mine. Lastly, Lee asked me personally what it was about the song “The Vikings Daughter” that appealed so strongly to me personally? I have declined to reveal that for the time being~ Many many thanks to Lee Maddison, Hard Drive Promotions, Blue Celtic Moon, The Curious Introvert for affording me the great honour to share this treasure with the world~ xx *Additionally I’d like to thank Blues and Roots Radio and Celtic Music Radio for your mission to play the music of incredible talent like Lee Maddison and thousands of others around the world!

My impressions
1. Night Circus~ Seems to be a clearly sardonic admission of the night lifestyle of the entertainment world~ The endless parade of caricatures that seem to dot the landscapes in that field.
2. Jessica ~ a gentle song to a sleeping bairn, a lass perhaps and the impressions of the adoring beholder of the wean~
3. The Country Song ~ quite obviously a tale of the heart of longing to give it all up and return to a simpler life which some of us long for every day. Even those of us who may still be stuck behind the wheels of the shiny new and expensive mode of transport we seem to acquire.
4. Misty Morning Blues ~ to me the need of all of those who are creators and the deep need to be somewhere alone for the purpose of introspection and self realization that is inherent in all those among us who truly are gifted, indeed driven to create life through music, writing, visual arts and some of us, if we’re smiled upon by fate, to produce prodigy that will ensure our own legacy and survival.
5. Tomorrow Is Such A Long Time ~ epitomizes the “Joie de vivre” that often follows the culmination of that which we have been blessed to finally see through to fruition and the enjoinder to just live in this moment and to truly not to worry about tomorrow.
6. The Way You Shine ~ This song to me is very personal and is indicative of love at first sight and yet a sad admission of love unrequited, love from afar and quite possibly never returned, but then that first kiss….. then, endless possibilities for the future.
7. Where Eagles Fly ~ this is yet another song of introspection that suggests a possible liaison between lovers and the dreams that bring that possibly bring that love to pass.
8. The Vikings Daughter ~ Oh God please don’t ask me to write about this one yet? It’s a story that has yet to be written in my very heart’s blood.
9. Come Friday Night ~ clearly the words of the somewhat dreary world of the working man’s reality with the hope of a nights respite when the long week is over at long last. Hope to keep walking forward.
10. The Crooked Mile Home ~ is a song of sadness and despair that often accompanies those of us destined to be deeply wounded when rejection surely puts us on our crooked mile home.
Additional notes
A; One Day ~ A song of hope that one day the rat race will lead to solitude and peace will be found in the
still water only found in the midst of the roaring chaos of this thing we call life! The road less travelled perhaps?
